The king's early escape gains eight turns.

1. A shogi piece called "Ou-sho".

2.'Ou-sho' is the 'King' in chess.

3.In chess, both are referred to as 'King', but in shogi, although there is no substantial difference, they are distinguished by the names 'Ou-sho' and 'Gyoku-sho'.

4.Based on the proverb, "There are not two suns in the sky, nor two kings on the earth", it is customary to use one "Ou-sho", with the higher-ranking player (the back player) using "Ou-sho" and the lower-ranking player (the first player) using "Gyokusho".

5.It is made of 925 silver.

Shogi piece designed in the motif of Shingen Takeda, a representative Daimyo(feudal lord) of Japan's Warring States Period (mid-16th century). At the time, his army was feared to be the strongest. He fought Kenshin Uesugi about five times on Kawanakajima, but there was no clear winner. His military flag bears the Chinese characters for "風林火山(wind, forest, fire, mountain)". The phrase was quoted from a part written about the attack/withdrawal of an army in the battle section in "Sun Tzu's Art of War" (Chinese books on tactics) which says ''As fast as the wind, as quiet as the forest, as daring as fire, as immovable as the mountain''.
