Incense burner with Four Symbols plus a Qilin.
The Four Symbols are mythological creatures appearing among the Chinese constellations along the ecliptic, and viewed as the guardians of the four cardinal directions. 
The turtle and snake on the lid of the incense burner are united in a single piece, the GENBU(Black Tortoise).
The front of the incense burner is SUZAKU(Vermilion Bird).
The reverse side is a SEIRYU(Azure Dragon).
The side is a BYAKKO(White Tiger).
And the Qilin has a long nose like an elephant.
Qilin is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler.
A masterpiece meticulously crafted by a Japanese traditional artisan.
