When you have a Kyosha, aim for the rear of the Pawn.

2.'Kyosha' is primarily translated as 'Lance', but we call it 'Spear'.

3.The 'kyosha' piece is positioned in each of the four corners on the board, and its characteristic is its ability to move straight ahead indefinitely as long as there are no obstacles.

4.Its performance of advancing in a straight line across on the board is reminiscent of the power of the spear, which was the mainstay in battles during Japan's Warring States period. As a result, it came to be called the 'YARI(spear)'.

5.It is made of 925 silver.

This Shogi (Japanese Chess) piece is designed in the motif of spear infantrymen from Japan's Warring States period (mid-16th century). During that time, spears were the mainstay of warfare and the spear infantrymen held a relatively high position among trained infantrymen due to their well-armed and capable nature.The design of this piece reflects the pride and determination of these spear infantrymen, capturing their spirit and intensity on the battlefield.
